Crisis in Kazakhstan

   In the second half of August 2007, the country started the mortgage crisis.

   2 February 2009 The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported repurchase 78% of BTA and 76% of the shares of Alliance Bank.

   April 10, 2009 Goldman Sachs Lowers Outlooks drop in GDP of Kazakhstan from 0 to 3%.

   Nursultan Nazarbayev instructed the Agency for Financial Supervision (AFS), Kazakhstan to consider restructuring of external debt.
